Appropriate Adult (2011)

Episode Overview

In February 1994, Janet Leach, a mother of five living in Gloucestershire, was preparing dinner for her children when the phone rang. She was enrolled in an access course that would qualify her to pursue a career in social work. Additionally, Janet was part of a registered group of ‘appropriate adults’—volunteers available to accompany police interviews with minors or vulnerable individuals, ensuring their rights were protected and helping them throughout the process.
